origin
lala slou was founded in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, in 2014 by Laura Junquera, after a business career linked to design and communication and a life change that led her to live on the island.
Her first pieces emerged from materials she found on her walks along Fuerteventura's beaches: volcanic stones, shells, glass, and wood.
Self-taught and always drawn to ancient cultures, she also became interested in Canarian aboriginal culture, incorporating shapes and graphic elements inspired by their traditions into her early works.
In her early days, she participated in various craft markets in Fuerteventura. There, between creation and direct contact with those who chose her pieces, she developed her own language.
The name lala slou comes from her affinity for the slow life philosophy, written as it sounds in Spanish and transformed into a fitting name, with the turtle as its mascot and main symbol.
Over the years, Laura expanded her search for materials and techniques, maintaining nature and its organic forms as her main source of inspiration.
Natural materials continue to hold a particularly important place in her collections today: natural stones, lavas, pearls, shells, woods, and other materials chosen for their shapes, colors, and textures.
What began with Laura working in a small workshop grew over the years.
In 2024, lala slou opened its shop and workshop in Fuerteventura, where lala currently designs and develops the collections.
Today, lala slou reaches customers worldwide from Fuerteventura, maintaining the essence with which it began:
Creating beautiful memories made with authenticity.
